In Los Angeles, Tanna Frederick has just wrapped playing the lead in Henry Jaglom’s Just 45 Minutes From Broadway at the Edgemar Center For The Arts. Alongside Judd Nelson, Tanna is reprising her role and is currently shooting a film version of the play, set to premiere in the fall of 2011. Tanna has also starred in three other Los Angeles plays: A Safe Place, directed by Kim Furst at the Skylight Theatre;Echoes, directed by Neno Pervan at The Coronet Theatre; and Always...But Not Forever, directed by Gary Imhoff at The Edgemar.
In film she starred in Jaglom's Hollywood Dreams, Irene in Time and the upcoming Queen of the Lot, which Jaglom describes as a "sequel of sorts," to Hollywood Dreams, in which her character, Margie Chizek, now renamed Maggie Chase, becomes involved in love, D.U.I arrests and family intrigues among the rich, powerful and famous. Noah Wyle co-stars.
Ms. Frederick recently hosted the third annual Iowa Film Festival—an event she founded three years ago—to great success in her home town of Mason City (of "Music Man" fame).
Ms. Frederick, along with famed surfer Shaun Tomson, also founded "Project Save Our Surf," an annual event which raises tens of thousands of dollars for oceanic conservation.
She recently received the 2009 Maverick Award from the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival and the Performer to Watch Award, at the 2009 Method Fest. Earlier awards include Best Actress for her performance in Hollywood Dreams at The Fargo Film Festival, The Montana Film Festival and the Houston International Film Festival.
Ms. Frederick resides in Los Angeles.
